Sindh Rolled Out Online Health Facilities Registration

For the first time, thanks to a new digital system that the Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHCC) has introduced for the registration and licensing of private health facilities as well as hospitals throughout the province, the whole process is now done online

As part of the World Bank-funded Competitive & Livable City of Karachi (CLICK) initiative, SHCC and the Sindh Business One Stop Shop (SBOSS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

According to Dr. Khalid Hussain Sheikh, chairman of the Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHCC), this change will make it easier for the registration of health facilities.

Dr Khalid said:

“With the support of the CLICK Project Director, we’re moving from manual to digital registration and licensing processes”.

According to SHCC CEO Dr. Ahsan Qavi Siddiqui, the commission has been tasked by the Board of Commissioners with automating hospital and physician registrations. He went on to say that an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, which is already 80% finished, is part of a broader digital transformation.

The main objective is to make compliance easier for healthcare practitioners while protecting the rights of patients and institutions, stressed Dr. Mirza Ali Azhar, a member of the SHCC Board of Commissioners.
