Govt of Punjab Lets Citizens Download Property Registries Online

The government of Punjab is making it easy for the people of Punjab to download property registries online through a project called Punjab Urban Land Systems Enhancement (PULSE). This highlights yet another turning point in the digitalization of records of land.

In an effort to generate more open as well as readily obtainable data, a Unified Land Information System is developed by the PULSE project. GIS-based parcel mapping is an important feature which correlates official maps perfectly with the details regarding the ownership of land. Hence lending a hand in minimizing the number of controversy and doubts.

More than 151 million pages of recorded deeds have been digitized as part of the project. Over 836 housing societies, encompassing over 874,000 land parcels, have been effectively mapped by the system, which also interfaces with local housing authorities. These modifications allow excellent record-keeping as well as streamline documentation.

By visiting the official portal of PULSE, clicking on “RoD Archives/Records,” and then typing their city, tehsil, CNIC, buyer’s name, along with the register number, citizens can download their property registries papers. Under the “Record ki Tafseelat” portion of the system, users can then access and download the official documents.

The digital change, according to officials, is a component of a larger goal to encourage planned urban expansion, enhance registration procedures, and lessen corruption in real estate transactions. By offering a more dependable land governance framework, it is also anticipated to stimulate both foreign and domestic investment.

On July 14, at the Lahore Expo Centre, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif officially opened the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA). Next Monday, PERA will start operations in the Lahore Division, with plans to spread throughout the province by December.

The authority has been charged with preventing unlawful land encroachments, stockpiling, profiteering, and artificial inflation. According to officials, the action aims to boost enforcement and rebuild public trust in government systems.
