A business case study titled “Jazz World to SIMOSA: A Blueprint for Digital Transformation from App to Ecosystem,” written by NUST Business School students and published by Ivey Publishing, one of the top publishers of business case studies used by colleges and companies worldwide, highlights SIMOSA, Jazz’s flagship SIMCare digital lifestyle and community platform.
The case published by Ivey Publishing covers the growth of SIMOSA (SIM One Stop App), which is a user-first digital platform and is currently serving more than 21 million active users every month, from Jazz’s classic self-care app, Jazz World.
Something that pioneered as an ordinary account tool has evolved into a lifestyle ecosystem that includes features like prayer tools, shopping discounts, horoscopes, music, and forex, along with smooth SIM management, multi-network bundles, recharges, in-app chat, tax certificates, and solution of complaints. It is now further enhanced by an integrated social network.
Aamer Ejaz, President Digital Platforms, Jazz, said:
“It’s encouraging to see SIMOSA spark academic curiosity and be studied as a model of local innovation. This journey from Jazz World to SIMOSA reflects our broader ambition to build platforms that go beyond utility and create meaningful digital experiences.
Being featured in Ivey Publishing validates the potential of locally developed tech to solve real-world problems at scale.”
This development is in line with Jazz’s overarching digital strategy, which centers consumers around a connected lifestyle. SIMOSA is a prime example of how telecoms can transform digital access and user engagement in emerging markets due to its size, effect, and design.
In addition to providing students with a practical example of digital transformation from Pakistan, its inclusion in the curricula of international business schools demonstrates the growing scholarly interest in locally relevant, scalable ideas.
As part of Jazz’s broader ServiceCo vision, SIMOSA exemplifies how digital platforms can enhance everyday life. Jazz now serves over 100 million users through a portfolio that includes JazzCash (fintech), Tamasha (entertainment), Garaj (cloud), SIMOSA (SIMCare and lifestyle), GameNow (gaming), and FikrFree (InsurTech)—using technology to improve lives and livelihoods across Pakistan.
