A new app was announced by the Islamabad Police. Its objective is to increase safety of passengers in the city.
Citizens can now check cabs before they leave by using the department’s newly released Online Taxi Verification App.
Ensuring that passengers board only registered and verified taxis operating within the federal capital is the app’s main goal. The police wish to minimize the possibility of crimes by employing unregistered or unauthorized vehicles through the introduction of digital verification phase.
Citizens can install the new Taxi Verification App and use the service by visiting the official website of Islamabad Police.
After installation, customers can book or begin a ride by scanning the QR code that appears on the cab. The application will immediately confirm if the car is registered with the Islamabad Police.
In a time when ride-hailing services and internet reservations are becoming more and more common, the approach is especially helpful. Passengers are reassured and taxi drivers are held to a higher standard of accountability.
