WhatsApp working on Chat Media Hub

A new Chat Media Hub feature is being developed by WhatsApp for its web edition that will allow its users to access all shared files and media from all chats in one location. The Chat Media Hub feature, which is under development at the moment is anticipated to be included in a future version of WhatsApp.

Every picture, video, GIF, document, and link contributed in every chat will be accessible through a single interface called the Chat Media Hub. These covers discussions held in groups, individually, and in the community. Finding certain content will no longer require users to open each chat window independently.

The functionality, which provides instant access to the complete media history across all chats, will show up as a new section in the web client’s sidebar. Users can browse through shared content in the hub and see more information, like the sender’s name and the sharing date.

For users to find particular items, WhatsApp will make it easier by adding a caption-based search feature. In addition, it will be possible for the users to sort out content by greatest file size, oldest first, or most recent.

Downloading, forwarding, or deleting multiple objects at once will also be possible with the help of a multi-select option.

These features are intended to help with storage management and content search, allowing users to more effectively locate and delete large or undesired files.

A similar feature for community group conversations was being developed by WhatsApp in its Android beta version, according to earlier updates. To provide a more complete solution for media access and organizing, the web-based Chat Media Hub will extend this feature to include all chats.

The feature has not yet been made public or made available for beta testing; it is still in the development stage. WhatsApp has stated that it will be incorporated into a future web client update, but it has not given a precise launch date.
