On May 28,2025, The Punjab government has declared that instead of June 1, summer break would start in all of the province’s schools.
The decision was made in light of the current extreme heatwave, Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said in a statement.
To safeguard pupils from severe heatwaves, updated school schedules have been established in addition to the holiday timetable. Until summer vacation starts, all schools will now be open from 7:30 am to 11:30 am.

An continuous heatwave is affecting numerous parts of the country, according to a recent alert warning from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The advice states that in the upcoming days, temperatures are predicted to increase by 4 to 6 degrees Celsius over average. The PMD has advised everyone to take the appropriate safety measures to prevent heat-related diseases, especially during the hottest afternoon hours.
