PakSat-MM1, Pakistan successfully launched first multi-mission satellite and is now carrying out operations. This marks a significant milestone in the country’s space program. With the launch of this satellite, Pakistan may now offer space-based broadband services, which represents a significant advancement in the country’s technological capacity.
The statement was made by the country’s minister of state for information technology, Shaza Fatima, beside the release of Pakistan’s first national space policy. The minister highlighted the key influence of PakSat-MM1 and its ability to transform connectivity throughout Pakistan, especially in remote and underserved areas, in this new policy.
The value of satellite was underlined by Fatime while addressing enduring problems of Pakistan, such as giving rural areas, where traditional infrastructure development has proven difficult, access to the internet. The minister was optimistic about the life-changing potential of this technology. He recommended that further digitalization could result in important breakthroughs in important areas like healthcare and education.
Chairman of SUPARCO, Yusuf Khan, and the CEO of PakSat, Khalid Rashid, complimented the satellite’s substantial accomplishments. They insist that PakSat-MM1 will provide a full range of services, such as data transport, telecommunications, and broadband internet.
Khan and Rashid expect that PakSat-MM1 will greatly increase internet speed throughout the country. Additionally, the long-standing problems of high costs and logistical complications connected to building conventional telecom infrastructure in difficult-to-approach areas will be solved by the satellite’s ability to deliver 5G coverage.
A bold prediction was made by Khan and Rashid that the GDP of Pakistan might increase by up to 2.5% if PakSat-MM1 satellite was successfully launched and utilized.
