Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have deployed smart mobile command units to supervise the security of 181 Muharram processions, supporting and directing more than 16,000 deployed personnel across the Federal capital.
The facility, which was built under the specific direction of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and was deployed by ICT Police for Muharram, can operate without mobile networks and is outfitted with drones and contemporary technology to coordinate monitoring.
For the purpose of investigating the security strategy, Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry as well as State Minister of the Interior Talal Chaudhry headed to the central Imambargah Asna Ashari in the G-6 area.
Both officials surveyed the main hall of Imambargah and examined how effectively safety precautions had been carried out, including a thorough examination of the recently installed mobile control room for Islamabad Police.
Talal Chaudhry notified the media that 1,762 individuals, together with 350 traffic cops posted at four major access points, had been sent in for security-related tasks. He went on to say that every possible precaution has been taken to ensure the security of mourners during Muharram processions and events.
In addition, he said that any hate speech or provocative content uploaded on social media platforms will be monitored and addressed by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency.
Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Inspector General of the ICT Police, gave a thorough briefing on the overall security plan. The plan calls for mourners to leave Rawalpindi on the 9th of Muharram and go to Islamabad, returning on the 10th.
Sector-wise planning, departmental coordination, and active CCTV camera monitoring along procession routes are all part of the security setup.
The briefing also disclosed that volunteers and security guards collaborate to provide a strong integrated security system for Majalis and processions.
Deputy Commissioners, DIGs, Chief Traffic Officers, SPs, and Islamabad Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa were among the high-ranking officials who attended the visit.
