A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Yango Pakistan and The Islamabad Capital Territory Police (ICTP), to enhance urban safety by incorporating ICTP’s public security technologies into Yango’s technological ecosystem.
The goal of this partnership is to increase public awareness and promote the use of the ICTP-developed Taxi Verification App and Smart ICTP app, which enable residents to access vital safety services.
According to the deal, Yango will incorporate the Smart ICTP software into its safety widget in the Yango Super software, making it simple for users to communicate with law authorities in an emergency.
Miral Sharif, Country Head, Yango Pakistan, said:
“We are proud to collaborate with ICTP on a shared vision for a safer, smarter Islamabad. Through this integration, we’re not just enhancing the rider experience, but also empowering communities with access to real-time safety tools backed by law enforcement.”
An information campaign to teach citizens how to utilize the Smart ICTP and Taxi Verification applications is part of the cooperation. These apps, which are free to use and provide a direct channel to police assistance, enable safer travel in the capital and speedier taxi certification.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which was signed by Mr. Muhammad Jahangir Khan of Yango and SSP Dr. Muhammad Iqbal (PSP) of the ICTP, is an important milestone in integrating the latest technology with public safety concerns of Pakistan.
By both parties, no tolerance for corruption, ethical cooperation, and the benefits of public have all been confirmed. Without requiring any financial commitments from either party, the MoU specifies a one-year collaboration period that will automatically renew unless otherwise specified.
By highlighting the safety of rider, responsible mobility, as well as significant local connections, Yango is continuing to grow its footprint in Pakistan.
