The government is thinking about investing more than Rs. 20 billion for key space-related projects under the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) ahead of the federal budget 2025–2026.
For the next fiscal year, a total of Rs. 18.13 billion has been set out for the Pakistan Multi-Mission Communication Satellite System (PakSat-MM1) project.
In the meantime, the Pakistan Optical Remote Sensing Satellite project which is one of the key space-related projects, received Rs. 1.7 billion development fund proposal.Â
In order to expedite geopolitical mapping and mineral exploration in Pakistan’s unmapped areas using contemporary satellite imaging-based technologies, the government has proposed spending Rs. 718.58 million.
Rs. 600 million is the suggested budget for a Pakistan Manned Space Mission for the coming fiscal year.
Furthermore, the government aims to move along with the development of the Pakistan Lunar Exploration Rover (PLExR), for the Chang’e-8 Mission, which will likely be launched in 2029.
