The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) formally requested the Implementation reports from all State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), affiliated departments, regulatory agencies, and ministries detailing the 100% adoption of the E-Office system.
The directive was issued after a cabinet resolution on May 19, 2025, in which the significance of government bodies to immediately merge with the digital system in order to better the efficiency and transparency was highlighted.
On May 20, 2025, in accordance with the cabinet’s orders, the Ministry of Science and Technology’s (MoST) announced that all SOEs and regulatory bodies must unite at once into the E-Office system. The notification further emphasized that all ministries have to completely set up the system by December 2025.
Now, ministries and divisions are required to sign certifications attesting to their compliance, and MoITT is entrusted with assembling a comprehensive report to submit to the Cabinet Division and the Prime Minister’s Office.
As part of the push for implementation, the government has implemented a performance-based reward system. The public recognition of the top three ministries or divisions that exhibit the most efficient and prompt integration of the E-Office system will be seen on August 14, 2025.
Additionally, it is expected that this program would boost a culture of digital governance and encourage healthy competition among federal organizations.
The adoption of E-Office has been found to depend critically on cybersecurity. Thus, for all digital office platforms, the Ministry of IT and Telecom has been instructed by the cabinet to guarantee strong cybersecurity measures.
It has also been directed that administrative secretaries from different departments actively educate their organizations about the significance and urgency of implementing the system.
