If you are big fan of the BMW brand then get ready because now you can wear BMW themed smartwatches which will be available in the market soon. Fossil Group Inc. announced on Monday that the company has signed a licensing agreement with BMW for branded watches and smartwatches all the way through 2023.
The news is confirmed by BMW today; both of the companies are ready to work together on making of a new range of watches which will be based on the Wear OS . The first set of the model will be officially produced in 2019, and which will labeled under the name of the Bavarian automaker. The first lineup will be sold in over 4,000 BMW locations worldwide.
“BMW is one of the most iconic brands in the world,” said Kosta Kartsotis, chairman and chief executive officer of Fossil Group. “We look forward to bringing our watch design expertise and smartwatch capabilities to BMW enthusiasts around the world.”
The American group, Fossil Group already has in its catalog several smartwatches made in partnership with licensed brands such as Diesel, Emporio Armani, or Michael Kors. According to Forbes, the company has more than 300 styles of wearables for 14 brands, which are being distributed in 50 countries and in 21 languages. The new partnership will add to the already large list of brands which use the smartwatches made by the company.
The design and specs are currently unclear, while the accurate release date is also unsure; we know that both BMW and Fossil Group will be distributing the watches. The Fossil Group is undoubtedly the most creative brand for Google’s smartwatch platform. Plus as we know it’s a deal between the two companies to collaborate for years, so it expected to see various generations of smartwatch devices over the next four years.
Previously in April 2018, Fossil Group has already announced that it will be making a Puma branded smartwatch as well with its first set to come out probably in next year.
