Cellular Services Suspended

To give infallible security arrangement during ashura’s days, Govt ordered telcos to suspend their services in all major cities of Pakistan. This move have been taken to ensure peaceful religious proceedings during ashura days.

While in Punjab it was expected that the blackout will last for complete 48 hours in all major cities during Muharram but Punjab government has ordered to suspend services during specific hours ranging from 8AM to 10PM.

Telcos services remain suspended in Islamabad, Lahore, Bahawalnagar, Faisalabad and various other cities during daytime and were restored in all cities after 10PM.

While other cities like Quetta and Gilgit Baltistan have seen telcos services suspension from 8AM to 11:59PM. There were also reports that cellular services remain suspended ahead of ashura days.

Sindh Home Department had requested blockage of cellular services in Karachi, Hyderabad, Shaheed Benazirabad, Khairpur, Sukkur, Larkana, Shikarpur and Jacobabad from 8am till 11:59pm 8th, 9th, and 10th of Muharram.
