Medical Staff Banned from Using Mobile in Government Hospitals of Punjab

Maryam Nawaz, the chief minister of Punjab, has implemented a stern restriction on physicians’ and nurses’ usage of mobile phones while on duty in all government hospitals.

No member of the medical staff will be permitted to use a cell phone while on duty, under the official mandate. In accordance with the Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability (PEEDA) Act, any sort of breach of said order will make one liable to disciplinary action, which might involve termination from work.

The aim of this step is to improve the professionalism and make sure that doctors and nurses can completely concentrate on their patients. As stated by the authorities, the key objective of this decision is to better the quality of healthcare services through eliminating distractions during duty hours.

All government hospitals of Punjab have been instructed to implement the directive right away to ensure uniform enforcement of the mobile phone ban during duty hours.
