Elon Musk’s aerospace business SpaceX announced through its official X account (previously Twitter), that Starlink, its satellite internet endeavor, had officially started offering high-speed internet access throughout Bahrain.
The debut came after Bahrain’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) awarded Starlink a telecommunications license in 2022, allowing the company to offer satellite-based (Starlink) internet services across the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Philippe Marnick, Director General of TRA Bahrain, in a statement praising the development. said:
“This reinforces our commitment to providing advanced telecommunications solutions that support the Kingdom’s development vision and meet the aspirations of both the public and private sectors,”
A component of Starlink’s quickly growing worldwide reach was its introduction into the Bahraini market. By May 2025, the service was already attainable in over 125 countries.
Starlink’s fast speed and low-latency communication is only made possible through a constellations of low Earth orbit satellites, especially in secluded and unattended areas.
Starlink is not only providing services to vital mobile industries like aviation and maritime operations but is also being used both locally and for commercial use. Starlink is opening up new avenues for innovation in the logistics and mobility sectors.
