Pakistan’s top provider of ICT and telecommunications services, PTCL Group (Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited & Ufone 4G), has once again come forward to support Olympian and national javelin icon Arshad Nadeem, not only as a partner but also as a firm believer in his potential and mission.
A new oath was made at a signing ceremony in Lahore to support Arshad at every turn, motivated by his discipline, enthusiasm, and unwavering faith rather than results.
Through his dedication and tenacity, Arshad Nadeem continues to inspire the country. His incredible accomplishments, such as becoming the first Pakistani track and field athlete to qualify directly for the Olympics.
Additionally, he won gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, as well as taking home a silver medal at the 2023 World Athletics Championships and culminating with a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He has made Pakistan proud.
Saif Uddin Khan, Group Vice President, Brands & Communication, PTCL & Ufone 4G, gave a statement:
“We’ve always believed in Arshad not because he wins medals, but because he embodies something greater, i.e., courage, consistency, and character. We are proud to stand beside him again, not just to support a campaign, but to be part of a greater purpose.”
Arshad Nadeem said:
“PTCL Group stood by me when recognition was far away. That kind of belief gives an athlete strength on the field and off it. Now, as I step into another defining phase of my journey, I’m proud to have them with me again. It’s not just about results; it’s about showing the world what Pakistan’s spirit looks like.”
As it did prior to the Paris Olympics, when it provided resolute support months before international recognition, PTCL Group will support Arshad once more as he competes for Pakistan in three major international events this year: the Asian Athletics Championships, the World Athletics Championships, and the Diamond League.
This ongoing collaboration is a testament to a common path of perseverance, self-control, and an unwavering desire to represent Pakistan internationally.
Arshad Nadeem’s next overseas training trip in the UK is also being fully funded by PTCL Group, guaranteeing him access to top-notch facilities, coaching, and a competitive atmosphere that aligns with his aspirations for a global career.
PTCL Group has continuously highlighted its goal of promoting sports and youth development in Pakistan. The group’s sports ambition extends beyond cricket, in spite of our support for Babar Azam, who is cricket’s greatest symbol. The group is hell-bent on offering moral support to athletes who represent the spirit, tenacity, and resolve of the country.
This is demonstrated by its support of the national volleyball team during the Central Asian Volleyball Championship, where Team Pakistan achieved a historic victory on home soil, and its support of the revival of Pakistan’s hockey team by increasing awareness and reigniting national pride in the sport.
Through Arshad Nadeem and numerous others, PTCL Group underlines its conviction that excellence starts with trust rather than praise. And a country advances when that idea is supported by action.
