Google has formally declared that the Pixel 10 series and a number of other new devices will be unveiled at its next significant hardware event on August 20. The revelation comes after weeks of conjecture and is consistent with several reliable sources that had pointed to a schedule of mid-to-late August.

New smartphone range of Google consists of Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, along with Pixel 10 Pro Fold, will be introduced at the event. In addition, Google is anticipated to release the Pixel Watch 4 and maybe the Pixel Buds 2a, a wireless earphone upgrade from its entry-level model.

The Tensor G5, which is next-generation system-on-chip of Google, will power every single Pixel 10 version. It is expected to be the first Tensor chip developed by TSMC, changing from the Samsung manufacturing technique utilized in the previous generations.

Improved thermal performance, lower consumption of energy, as well as higher efficiency all around are expected to be results of the change.

There are also expected to be camera improvements across the board, with the ultrawide and telephoto lenses apparently supporting macro photography features. The devices will also enable “Pixelsnap” magnetic accessories, however unlike Apple’s MagSafe system, these will only be found in specially made cases rather than built into the phones themselves.

The Pixel 9 lineup, which was launched in 2024, is followed by the Pixel 10 series. Some users and reviewers questioned the Tensor G3 chip for its limited thermal efficiency and minor performance benefits, while others praised the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro for their clean Android experience and AI-driven photography features. Another issue was battery life, especially during periods of high workload.

It is anticipated that the Pixel 10 will address these issues.

Launch Date of Pixel 10 Confirmed by Google

Although an August 13 debut date was previously suggested, it was never formally confirmed. Whether Google changed its internal schedule is still unknown. The verified date of August 20th, however, now fits with those prior rumors, continuing the pattern of precise leaks about Pixels.
