Karachi police have arrested a TikToker named as Babra, popularly known as Bebo, for her suspected involvement in providing drugs to young citizens in different districts of the city. The arrest was confirmed by the South Darakhshan District Police, who are also looking into a larger drug network.
Gulshan-e-Iqbal native Babra first came to notice in 2007 as a model and then as a TikTok celebrity. She soon entered the entertainment sector after completing her studies up to the intermediate level, according to exclusive interrogation information obtained by City 21.
According to authorities, Babra had a difficult home life that included her mother’s 2017 remarriage and her parents’ divorce. She reportedly moved to an apartment in Muslim Commercial because of the constant arguments she had in her stepfather’s house. She carried on modeling there and increased her social media following, becoming well-known on TikTok.
Police believe that the accused had been leading a double life despite of her public image. She started going to private parties in posh districts, where she was exposed to cocaine and crystal meth, also referred to as “ice.” She allegedly became addicted over time and started giving out drugs at these events and through personal connections.
After being arrested, TikToker Babra acknowledged using drugs and confessing to her involvement in the supply of drugs in sectors like defense during police questioning. She also admitted to stealing and said she had been detained twice before. She allegedly delivered drugs to clients in high-end social circles and at private events.
According to officials of police, private events will be monitored more seriously, and the police will keep an eye on digital platforms for suspected influencer improper use. As the investigations continue into the network of Babra and associates, additional arrests could possibly be expected.
