WhatsApp has finally launched its audio and video calling feature on the Desktop app for all users around the globe. This feature was first tested in December 2020 with limited users allowed.

Previously, the users of messaging service, WhatsApp, had to turn towards their phone to make an audio or video call. Now, it has become more effortless to continue to work on the desktop while making or receiving an audio or video call from WhatsApp Desktop.

The calling window will retain its place on the top of the screen while you are navigating between the tabs or switching between different. However, you can change the position of the window by dragging it with a mouse or the touchpad.

On the screen of an on-going video call, there are few options at the bottom. The camera icon for turning on/off the camera, a mic icon to switch the mic on or off, a red button to end the call, and a drop-down menu to change the type of camera, microphone, and speaker.

Previously, we covered the news about the beta version of WhatsApp Desktop to be expected launch of audio-video calling, now the feature is here for the ever-increasing users of this popular messaging service.

Windows 10 64-bit  1903 and a newer version, macOS 10.13, and newer versions support this feature. Like in mobile, the calls on WhatsApp desktop will be end-to-end encrypted.
